CROTORAX HC 10+0.25 CREAM is a combination of Crotamiton and Hydrocortisone which belongs to the group of medicines called Scabicides & Antipruritics and Corticosteroids respectively. It is used in the management of scabies.
Human scabies is a parasitic infestation caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis. The microscopic mite burrows into the skin and lays eggs, eventually triggering a host immune response that leads to intense itching and rash.
Scabies infestation may be complicated by bacterial infection, leading to the development of skin sores that, in turn, may lead to the development of more serious consequences such as septicaemia, heart disease and chronic kidney disease.
During the course of the management your doctor might regularly examine your skin to avoid any untoward side effects.
CROTORAX HC 10+0.25 CREAM is not recommended for use in cold sores, acne, athlete’s foot, broken or infected skin and in children (below 10 years).
CROTORAX HC 10+0.25 CREAM is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless specifically directed by your doctor.
The most common side effect of using CROTORAX HC 10+0.25 CREAM are irritation at the application site like burning or itching. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

CROTORAX HC 10+0.25 CREAM manages affected skin where Crotamiton produces a cooling effect on evaporation from the skin, which helps to divert your body's attention away from the disease symptoms like itching and Hydrocortisone inhibits the synthesis of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause inflammatory signs like redness, swelling and itching.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Apply CROTORAX HC 10+0.25 CREAM as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
